Adam will help McMullan as he takes all their set pieces so TheAuldHunStand and The Dairy are both safe from a Mc McMullan corner.
23 games in and oh what a din
Top 6 is the aim but will we be in
Not with this team thats lacking in height
Or this midfield which is creatively shyte
Mellon"s back 5 is taking the Mick
Our set piece defending is making us sick
Thon lumping the ball is a pain in the rear
Our Connolly's nailed on for most punts of the year
Dear Tony your job is to find us good players
Not sit on yer ass piling on lots of layers
Dear Ogren please empty your wallets and pockets
We canny rely on Sir Shanklands big rockets
I canny say sorry for this silly wee ditty
It's a demand sent with love from the best fans in the city
Dear Mickey
Please lower the noise when you're near the touchline
We can't be affording to pay a big fine
This jumping about constantly having a rant
Telling players to do something that they just can't
Us fans want a pass and a cross and a goal
Not a punt and a grunt or you'll be on the dole
We grew up watching our team play with swag
Most funsters alive just fear 6 in the bag
Stop fecking around with this squad you are tweaking
And quit with the joy re the points you are sneaking
Your team are outplayed, out thought and out faught
Your ultra safe set ups are selling us short
It's time to go knocking and asking for money
Our midfield's so bad and it's no feckin funny
The joy of our fans should be goal number one
No ifs and no buts please just get it done
A nice poem but disagree with the majority of your points.
Our performances right now have little to do with the manager and mostly down to the quality of player we have at the club. He cant stop the fact that Robson loses his man at a corner. He cant stop the fact that Neilson doesnt clear the ball when he has 3 opportunities to do so. He cant help that Harkes and Powers cant take control of a game and dictate the pace of it. He cant help that our players consistently misplace passes and lack the ability to consistently take a man on a get balls into the box.
I get what people will say: "he is the manager, he should be working on this in training" - well I bet you he is. You all may disagree, but the vast majority of our issues last night came from player performance.
Agree 100% with Bud but the poem is very good.
The above is how you keep two posters with differing views onside.Dry January BTW a complete failure in the Bedsit yet again.
agree with most these points, the quality just isn't there, and its a credit to the players and management that they have got to where they are so far (and a reflection on how sh1te the league is), but we aren't out the woods yet by any means, the games against our bottom 6 rivals this quarter are massive and become huge 6 pointers, and given most of them are away and we haven't won an away match since the winning the first two is a concern, as few of our home games this quarter look winnable.
As much as I thought a back 4 would have been better last night, we were actually playing quite well up to the equaliser, and the goals we lost could just as easy have happened regardless of formation due to poor individual errors. Mellon maybe overcompensating for Fuchs and Butcher being out, but Powers and Harkes didn't offer the defence much protection last night. I quite like Powers, but he struggles with pace of game, he is more effective coming on last half hour of games when there is bit more space and pace has gone down a notch. It is a worry missing Butcher and Fuchs against hammer throwers like St John and Hamilton, as we lose most the physical battles, and our passing isn't good enough for us to be confident out passing these sides either.
Dundee after Nicky Clark now.
I know that scouting over the country and abroad is difficult at this time, but surely they are allowed to look further than across the road? Signed Sow, then McMullan on a pre contract, Stanton was in on trial, now looking at Clark.
Hopefully they have Adam King on their radar. Actually their might other Premier League teams interested in Clark, so might be in United's interests to get him signed up now if they want to keep him. Would be interesting if did sign a pre-contract with someone else if we would not play him as we are McMullan, that's an easy stance if its a player you don't necessarily rate and aren't playing anyway, less so if its a regular starter. Clark has limitations, but fair play, he has stepped up to the mark this season.
