We can do better than both, but in the current climate I can't see us doing much, if any shopping in the next one, maybe two windows, so they have to stay. The club have to be very careful here. These players owe us nothing and quite rightly should be looking after number one. If that means signing pre-contracts then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Overspending last season may well come back to bite us on the arse if we're not careful.

When you put yourself in the shoes of a player and think if you knew you COULD be out of a job in 6 months then you'd do the same. Like above though, Nicky said himself on his DUTV interview with Dillo that talks had started (I'm sure he said this, could be wrong).

The only trouble is, if we offer a 1 year deal and Dundee offer a 2 year deal... what does he do? It's a difficult one. There's no denying he is an important player for us (although now that this news is out many will talk him down). There is no getting away from how important he has been for us. I hope we get him tied down.

They’ve got a right cheek going after Clark. After all we’re still waiting for our £500k for Scott Robertson from them so I hope they get a move on. Just think of the difference that money could make right now. Infact, they could easily buy any of our top players and to be fair, they certainly seem to have an attitude of ‘second is nowhere’. With an approach such as that, what could possibly go wrong????

I don't think we should let McMullen go before the 31 January, just in case we need him. If Micky is not going to play him, then loan him out to Arbroath, Raith or Dunfermilne. If dee really want McMullen in January, then a transfer fee would be required; - a minimum of £75K - enough to contribute to our wage bill.

It's the well renowned Dundee United mole. Scott Burns. The good news being, he is spot on with everything he's ever said about United. Says Dundee did try to get him but he wont be signing for them. Hoping that means he will sign for us...

Also I've been thinking about this... maybe this is the way it works anyway. But surely WE could sign him on a pre-contract? As in, agreeing with the player that on 1st June 2021 his new contract will kick in. Or is this what happens anyway? The reason I ask is, we are saying we cant afford to give anyone a new contract at the moment, assuming that the usual way it works is, agree new deal (presumably for more money) and then it kicks in from that date. Say tomorrow, 14th Jan. So we are paying 6 months inflated wages more than we would have. Just a thought, could be sh1te, could be the way it works anyway.
