I know completely how you feel! My gran was ultra stubborn and turned the tele off if a black person came on it. My own mum was just as stubborn and god help anyone who upset her! I used to have some of the stubbornness from her but soon realised life is too short!

I would also offer vaccinations for private at a hefty cost - many with money would pay or should be made to pay which will get through the millions quicker and not rape the NHS when many can afford it. Priority of vaccinations though still should not change!
Mrs P 67 is a community nurse, they simply don’t have the resources Al, they are massively over stretched managing a huge increase in very sick people being turned out of hospital too soon, on top of that numbers are down due to self isolation and as of yet no one in her team has been vaccinated, the new variant is a real worry, they have Covid patients in their rounds, and whilst they wear PPE they don’t have the filter masks used by ICU staff, going into a very hot house with a sick patient and with closed doors and windows i really worry it’s only a matter of time before she gets sick. This jab couldn’t come sooner, I would drive from here to Scotland to get her the vaccine!

Al', you probably used to jog in parks for the precise reason you'd have a better chance of coming into contact with tightly clad sweaty young females. On the rare occasions I cycled on narrow paths I always made a point of giving way to walkers. Joggers and fellow cyclists were a different story though, wunch of bankers 😉 .

The fact that she refuses to use an answerphone or 1571 on her phone makes this her own fault and now inconveniences me next week.

I’ll wager that a lot of these old crones are exactly the same as my mum.
Mick, my Aunt has phoned her doctor which is just around the corner, and they are trying to get it done there once they get the vaccine.
Couldn't you do the same and find somewhere closer? A lot of people are angry over this so you wouldn't be on your own.

Like Mick, we live in a rural location. There is a public path a few yards from our house that takes you through framyards and woods and over farm field. There is also a canal a hundred yards away.
I regularly walk these routes and rarely see a soul, but since lockdown people are everywhere. I wouldn't use the towpath because they are narrow.
People turn up in car's and leave them on the pub car park and then head for the woods and fields.
I thought the idea of exercise was to do it in your own area?
I'm no snob but we came here to get away from people lol.

So many people are being offered a slot in Millenium Point. My Mum who lives around 30 miles north near Stafford phoned me on Monday as she received a letter and couldn’t see how she could get there (I live in the North East 150 miles away so I can’t get down to take her).

As I told her on Monday hang on and you will get another offer nearer to home. She phoned last night to say she got a call from her surgery to offer her another appointment in Cannock about 6 miles away.

This is a huge logistical operation and we need to be a bit patient.

Well said Yarm. Patience is going to be the key to this logistical nightmare. All I would say is that I am glad we're out the corrupt EU Club where they are squabbling about getting the vaccine.

Patience is the key even when hundreds of temporary morgues are set up in parks/hospital grounds. Talk about frozen fish fingers and in Boris we trust ( do we f uck )

The thing is, though, Al, who would you trust? BoJo is a buffoon but to be fair, there isn’t anyone that has any experience of dealing with such a crisis as this, so one cannot be surprised that mistakes have been made. Much blame, though, has to be placed on those that have recklessly flouted the regulations (and common sense) and spread the pestilence. Do you believe in God, because he’s the chap that can put an end to all this...........
