I think it's fair to say that most people were happy with the pre-season recruitment with some even optimistically predicting a mid-table finish. Of course that could still happen but, based on what we've seen so far quite a few of the recruits are not Championship standard and some of the players who came up last season aren't either. It's not the first time we've been in that situation either.
So what do we want TS to do? Income streams are very restricted so it's surely unrealistic to expect him to gamble on staying up by throwing money at the notoriously difficult January transfer window. But let's say he did gamble but it didn't work out and we went down anyway. What then? Wouldn't that potentially put the club on the same slippery financial slope as some others who have bet the farm and lost.
I'm pretty sure TS will want us to stay in the Championship but I'm equally certain that it won't be at all costs.

Spending money on players is not necessarily throwing money down the drain ! Even if we go down they could still be worth a lot more than what we paid for them !

For example Tom Bradshaw, Kayden Jackson, and Keiffer Moore all players Warney thought weren’t worth the fees, or Ts and the board did ? All of these players have more than doubled their worth in the transfer market, so it’s all about buying the right players at the right age ? You can add Moyatt, Wilks and the Doncaster Rovers ex captain Ben Whiteman to that that list although none of them played for us
