    Incidentally, I'm reading Craig Brown's (nae that een) "One, two three, four" just now.

    Are we talking 60s and 70s pop songs only? Vogue for me has to be one of the greatest pop songs.

    It’s terrific, and Madge’s best song as far as I’m concerned. That short rap section near the end is a touch of genius.

    Although Spector was behind the mixing desk, the 'Wall of Sound' had as much to do do with those in front of it -
    The Wrecking Crew. Look up their cv. Pristine.

    They played, but he arranged it and did the production which gave it that insane wash.
