The terminology in the PHE report is simply 'excess deaths where covid was mentioned on the death certificate'. So I don't think there's any real attempt to hoodwink the public into thinking covid was the main factor in every death. But where someone with an illness is not terminal, yet they die a couple of weeks after contracting covid, it's reasonable to count that as a covid death. If you write-off all the deaths in care homes, which are now near the 30k mark in the UK, you're still at the 100,000 deaths level. So how many of the 100,000 aren't covid-related?

He was delighted to accept and travelled to get his treatment staying in Gartnaval hospital which is next door to the Beatson hospital. Sadly this patient contracted the Covid-19 virus in Gartnaval hospital and sadly died.
If he had turned down the offer of his next round of cancer treatment he might still be alive.
A tragic incident which shows why decisions were made to delay treatments in hospitals. And why there are now dedicated hubs set up around the UK, to avoid that happening more often.

How would you have attempted to take steps to balance the books after Gordon Brown and his Labour Government had squandered all the money in the coffers.
If the Tory/LibDem coalition government had borrowed the money the £ in your pocket would have become worth phuck all.

I am hearing through the grapevine that some relatively healthy people in care homes who have received their first Covid-19 vaccination are becoming very ill with Covid. They might even be dying.
However we will never know how many people in care homes have contracted the Covid-19 virus and died after receiving their first Covid-19 vaccination unless the information is dragged out of the NHS through Freedom of Information requests.

This person might never contracted Covid-19 if the Pond Hotel close to Gartnaval Hospital and the Beatson had not been sold.
People attending the Beatson for cancer treatment daily from Monday to Friday who lived out with the Glasgow area used to stay in the Pond Hotel.
Gartnaval is an outdated hospital which should have been replaced years ago.

Care homes in Scotland have been using the Pfizer vaccine as far as I'm aware, which doesn't have any covid DNA so they can't be catching covid from the vaccine. It also takes 2-3 weeks for people to get peak coverage from the single dose, which could be anything between 50% and 90% efficacy depending on who you're talking to. I think it's v1tal that govt give care homes their 2nd dose asap however the tories are barely through the first dose in England's care homes.
