Is there any of these signings that if they had come to United people would be overly excited about? Would you swap Harkes for any of these midfielders, Connolly for any of the defenders, McNulty for any of the strikers?

I wouldn't say that anyone has really improved their squad
Actually I would have certainly given some thought to Jordan White. We have absolutely no variety or ability to 'change it up' up front and a big lump who can throw his weight about and get nod ons and flick ons would have been handy. We are currently so predictable going forward it's ridiculous.

The flip side of this transfer window is it might serve to give players a reality check as to how high they rate themselves.
If they want to use Utd as a stepping stone to better then they need to do better. Maybe then other clubs may make an effort to buy them.
As it is we seem to have got rid of some of the dross even if only short term.

Don't know much about any of the players or any of the squads they're going into to be able to form an opinion. What I do know is that they've been identified as players who their respective new managers think will improve or offer competition to their own squads. Doesn't really matter how excited we'd have got.

There are areas in our squad where even some competition would make a massive difference. Left back for example. Might make Robson buck up his ideas if he knows his place is under threat. A right winger may help give Bolton another 5/10% etc etc.

It wasn't to be however so we have to get over it and hope this squad has enough in them to see us through.

I would say a lot of these players I don't know enough about but what all these clubs have done is identify areas of the pitch they need strengthened. We have done nothing when there are clear deficiencies. I mean what has Harkes offered this season in midfield to use your example? Where is the creativity? We went in to this season with a hot striker and we have given him nothing. We either play as a team with a formation not to lose (most effective) or when we try to be more offensive leaky at the back and no service for strikers.

N C I is going to hurt us bad.

    Are we heading for relegation/amalgamation?

Not meant to be a Quote just merely suggestion.
Money probably would have ruled us out but would have loved to have seen Stevie Mallon added to our squad rather than going abroad

Sometimes its not just about actually 'improving' the quality of player or squad, simply the reshuffling of changing of personnel breathestemporary freshness into the proceedings.

A reunion with Tony Andreu? so we have him McNulty and Clark all playing in the same position and not creating.

Think the boy Middleton on loan from theGR2012 will turn out good for them.

The Sun reckons Leicester offered 500k for Neilson in the window but the young lad didn't fancy it. Fair play to him.
