Thread: Motherwell Away

We win that game last night if it wasn't for two stupid individual errors.
    ..............
How do arrive at that conclusion?
Benji has ump**** good saves again.
Could easily have been 3 goals down but you think we would have won.

I assume you're talking to me? There's a quote function you can use to reply to certain posts.

But anyway, how do I arrive at that conclusion? Well, we made two basic individual errors which led to two goals. If we don't make those errors, they don't score the two goals. Fairly simple really.

He is an old shed boy just like myself mate and i would suggest his point is Motherwell after a bad start could have been 4-0 up at the break with better finishing.
We of course were much better after the break but Butcher's attempt's to play offside were offering a 1 goal in 4 striker Devante Cole numerous opportunities to improve his stats, fortunately he kept missing.

Siegrist made the saves like he always does. They could've been 4 nil up had he not, just like we could've won the game if Clark didn't come off the post and Harkes didn't pass to the opposition. We were much improved the second half and by far the better team. 72% possession. More than double their attempts at goal. Had it not been for those two stupid mistakes, we'd have had a great chance to take the points the way the game turned out.

You didn’t say we could have won. You said we would have won. Not the same thing.
You can apply your logic to every game we’ve played. We would have won if .....

Beautiful use of the quote button mate, almost as good as Sturrock taking a throw in to his feet and shymmining away from his marker.

We could have on because it started off at 0-0, but then just got worse.

We were better second half, but was a good deal of that because well didn't really have to do any attacking to win the game knowing they could easily close out a shyte midfield and do some breaks forward.

Okay, if Harkes & Clark hadn't made their two simple mistakes and the game had gone on as it did, we would've won 1-0. That better?

I couldn't apply that logic in every game, because not every game we have 69% possession with 16 shots at goal. We did that during the week and imo would've won that game had it not been for the two schoolboy errors.

Agreed tHeArAb, we deserve a lot of credit for our 2nd half performance at Fir Park, credit where credit due, Motherwell were 2nd best. Just such a shame we lost these two ****ty 1st half goals. And if we take that 2nd half performance forward with us today & beyond (and why shouldn't we?) I'm sure we'll end up nearer the middle of the table than the bottom.
