    Foul throws

Watching the games nowadays and am shocked at how many foul throws there are that are not given

    This reminds me.

When I played at full back later in my Sunday football career I had a problem with giving away foul throws.

Long throws I had no problem but short ones are a nightmare and they are for a lot of pro’s as well.

It’s hard to only throw the ball a few feet whilst not breaking the rule.

Hard to explain really unless you’ve played the game and actually had to regularly do throw ins.

There was a foul throw penalised in the match last night, Swansea v Norwich; the commentator said that it was the worst throw in that he had ever seen!

Happens every match. Throwing the ball quickly from the top of the head instead of behind. If it was acted on I reckon a lot of goals wouldn't have happened.

The ball doesn't have to be placed in the arc at corner kicks, you just need part of the ball to overhang the line. It's irritating but not a breach of the rules/laws.

As for throw ins I took loads and never had a problem be they long or short. It grinds my gears when professional footballers can't take them without stepping on the pitch.

I fail to see what advantage is gained by moving the ball a few inches so thats in "only just" a legal position for corners Are they just trying it on ?

    Nope.

If you’ve ever tried taking a corner with the ball in the middle of the arc it’s not impossible to end up crossing the pole with the ball😏
