Bit like an old saying, keep doing the same things, but expecting a different result
My thoughts exactly. We are in the mix which is all most sensible fans would demand. I think some feel we should have won every game 8-0 and be sat on 60 odd points with promotion all but achieved.
I’m intrigued to see how we go about the remainder of the season, especially when we get our best player back. I would happily win 80% of games left playing ‘Ardley ball’ and sneaking 1-0 wins.
So many have that view. Davy doesn't realise there are more than two camps, two options on here.
It's promotion or out in my eyes#noexcuses.
So many from both sides of the divide say the same and have down for a long time now. It's just taken a little longer for some to realise that no decision was going to made mid-season . It was always very likely that he would get the whole season. Only a couple of posters seem to be hanging onto the hope that January's Manager of the Month winner may get sacked in the near future
Nice deflection tactics laddo
So let's replace the word great for the word good.
When I say good I mean those of you who imply hes good even if you have not actually written that word down
Let's go again , if hes so good why get rid even if we fail to get promotion?
It's a total contradiction of everything you've been saying.
If hes good give him more time surely?
That's much better, there is a huge difference between "great" and "good".
If someone thinks he's good, but he doesn't get us up this season and no progression from last season's efforts then it's a valid opinion to get rid. This would be on the belief that the next appointment would be a better manager.
I've not been saying he's great, or even good. I've been saying he's good enough to be given this season. That's the thing you seem to be missing and mixing up. You talk about people calling him great now good and then you specifically talk about my view.
Remember you don't think the pre-season when we entered Non Legaue had an impact on the season and I believe the complete opposite. You think it wasn't a valid excuse, I did. If you remember those opposing views it all makes sense.
He's a good enough manager to be given this season to get us up, he was good enough last season not to be sacked after the play off final defeat.
No contradiction at all, hope that helps.
Well i wouldnt expect anything else really considering all the advantages Notts have over most other clubs in this division
Contary to belief, i want Ardley to do well, after all Notts would benefit. Its just i never seen anything different from him in over 2 years, its always respect the point crap, as i have said earlier same things, same results. There has been no justification in him staying as long as he has, just for the sheer reason he might eventually get it right, or that we have sacked to many managers, i honestly believe another manager would have done no worse, probably better
The other thing is he has never won a key match, Macclesfield, Swindon , Barrow(H), Harragate , and more recently Torquay because of this respect the point approach.
If we are in the play offs, we need to come out on the front foot, trying to beat the team not just sitting back, because i believe like in most league matches where teams are happy to sit back, suiting Ardleys style, they will be completely different in a knockout game, by having a high press, and coming at our throat so to speak, something to date Ardley has shown he can not deal with, it under these circumstances, where i think we will collapse, and be behind before we get in our stride
None the less, if we are in , there is always a chance of winning it, and that is what i hope for
