Asylum Seekers Go On Hunger Strike

"A group of asylum seekers staying in a hotel in Reading have gone on hunger strike in protest at poor food and lengthy asylum claims.

Some of the men and women say they have been in their rooms for over eight months.

They claim the food provided is unhealthy, and is given to them in too small quantities"

With the pandemic many families in this country can hardly feed their own kids and these w ankers go on hunger strike! I would personally let them starve or even better work cleaning the streets for the food they are getting. There's no such thing as a free lunch!!

Boris the man who said he will solve illegal immigration - what the hell are you doing?

    Make their portions smaller.

If they’re in hunger strike there’s no point in wasting food.

Effing well amazing that people get all worked up over some dodgy unproven story which is thousands of pounds in value

What about all the dodgy people on benefits taking the piss, the limited companies tax dodging, the huge corporations taking the Mickey
The billions wasted over COVID to MPs mates on advertising and crappy PE that was not even fit for purpose

There are always people who are hard done (edge cases)
I’m from a family who sacrificed everything to earn a certain amount to pay off their house and work all hours given to them
And when my parents lost their jobs after 35+ years (paying taxes all along) they can’t get any help because they have some savings and no mortgage (not on a massive house but a semi in a ****ty area)
Which was due to working every hour god gave them, sacrificing spending on ANY luxuries, no holidays fancy clothes etc
I didn’t go abroad until I was 21, and we had no holidays in the UK apart from to family and friends houses

Instead of whinging and going on I saw that as my opportunity to step up and motivate me even more to help those that needed it

When did we stop thinking this was a responsibility of those who were able ?

All well and good BS, we could all state cases like yours.

My in laws never had a mortgage, they saved...yes SAVED for every house they ever owned and didn’t move until they had enough to pay for each one outright.

Father in law never bought himself the Mercedes he really wanted, the two cars they owned at the end of there driving lives were a 1987 Ford Escort XR3i and a 1997 Vauxhall Astra.......those were only sold off 4 years ago so that’s how frugal they were.

Mum in law died three years ago not long after going into social care with severe Parkinson’s.

Father in law has been in care for 4 years with severe dementia.

He has no vocabulary left, he’s blind, he doesn’t know who he or anyone else is and he’s doubly incontinent.

He’s just been forced out ( literally ) from his care home in Stourbridge and moved to the only place in the West Midlands in Bilston that would take him because his needs are so acute.

Acute but not acute enough for social services to pay for his care, apparently, until you’re curled up in the foetal position and rolling in your own p I s s and s h I t you don’t qualify for full nursing care financial support.

At the last home both he and mum in law were two of only three patients out of the 20 odd there paying for their own care, at a cost of around £30k a year, his new home is over £46k a year.

The people who made merry and didn’t make provision for themselves are getting fully funded care to the same standard by the state.......explain to me how that’s fair!?

You want to talk about “Effing angry”, well this does it for me.

You’ve allegedly got people who’ve come over here either legally or illegally and they’re on hunger strike FFS.

My taxes, your taxes and the money my 91 year old father in law is saving the government are keeping these people warm and safe, apologies if Gordon Ramsey isn’t on hand each night to cook Coq Au Vin!

Too many people are too quick to bite the hand that’s feeding them when they make this their final destination of travel.

There’s plenty of other countries to stop off at and make a home in before you get to the U.K.

I’ve often wondered why people don’t stop in warm and sunny France and Italy and why they cross the channel on a blown up crisp packet.........mmm, let me think what might be enticing them here!?

I’m all for helping people BS but to be honest, I get cheesed off when I hear fellow Brits hammering people who stand up for our Isles.

Life’s not fair as my father in law is finding out, I wonder if they’d eat the very basic food he gets fed for his £900 a week?

I suspect they’d be up in arms about that as well, that’s because they have a voice but him at 91 no longer has.

I would add that I agree with what you say about dodgy contracts and government waste by the way.

    .

Good post BS - Amazon would be the first point of call! Hammer them with tax dodging and hammer them with an additional taxation for not being on the high street and turning over ridiculous sums of money!

Not that they even care about customer service as parcels dumped on door steps or thrown over walls and hey if you have a problem you might get someone in an Argentinian Call Center

    I wasn’t saying I’m on my own
The thing is most people are decent honest n hardworking

And they don’t kick up a fuss about where real money is being spunked up the wall

The issue isn’t these few people but the system n the people willing to use and abuse
