As an aside, being bored on the bank holiday here in the US, what are the other teams in the 92 that have a boring nickname like Middlesbrough simply being The Boro?

Some have abandoned their nickname probably down to snobbery eg Chelsea the pensioners now the blues ,Leeds: peacocks to the whites.

Some like Reading have gone a bit more upmarket ie Biscuitmen to The Royals. Its a shame that a club abandons its history just to adopt a bit of snobbery. They have always been a club too big for their boots since moving to the madjeski.

Some others like boro and donny are totally unimaginative like Forest and Blackburn

You have to say that about SWFC the pigs nickname is quite unique

I'm just pleased we kept our nickname and didnt go down the route of calling ourselves summat like the new yorkers or summat equally cringeworthy.

We were called the Merry Millers

I think that was a reference to a typical supporter ten minutes before KO

Ah but is it a mill as in windmill ( on our invented badge) or a mill as in rolling steel?
