It's not true. Football is an emotive game where defeat hurts. Some react in a knee-jerk way, but it's because they are angry and frustrated, not because they want us to lose.
Well said Elite, today's performance was terrible and it hurts me to the core, hence I come on and have a rant.whereas on non matchdays , I tend to be more measured when the hackles are not up

Maybe Elite, KC has been so ferocious and constant in his views about Ardley which largely I haven't agreed with but some I have. I agree it's emotive, I'm questioning tonight the manager and squad, though if we win the next 3 I will be happy as a pig in muck, internally we need to take stock, we're in a great position points wise, this is where the hard decision making needs to take place.

In other news, Torquay get an equaliser against Halifax just before half time in the BT game.

We are seriously weak upfront in the CF positions, I think Doyle and Reeves have been decent centre mid but do we need another option in there, not sure its Wolfe, just someone a bit more different as an option.
We’ve already lost 4 at home? 3 of them in very similar circumstances.

The best performance lately was when Ardley’s game plan had to be thrown out very early on.

What do you think that tells you?

We don't create chances. Wootton has had nothing again today.

No I think daggers were awful, over committed against 10 men, lost the ball and we were given acres of space. Rodriguez was sublime that night, tonight for example all he has to do is put that last free kick in the box and he shanks it. There’s 2 challenges we need to overcome quick, teams that totally sit back and teams that aggressively press us, tbf there going to be regular challenges, the former we have got by with just, the latter is obviously an issue.

Probably the most disappointing performance of the season for me and we deserved nothing from that game at all. We did not test the keeper once in the entire game. To be fair to Cheaterfield they did a job on us by pressing, working hard, giving us no time on the ball and nullified any threat because we did not have the dominance of play or possession. We did not have anywhere near the quality, energy, creativity or spark to overcome that in the final third as has been the case many times this season.

It's games like today where our lack of creativity and ability to score more goals is going to cost us points. It puts more pressure on us getting a result against Stockport next.

There is no doubt about it we are far weaker up top this season having lost Thomas and Dennis. If we fail to get promoted this will be one of the key reasons.

    Indeed!

Worryingly he also said that they have come up with a list of players and sent them to the owners to have a look at. It was my understanding (hope) that it would be Football Radar recommending players to Ardley?

The signings since Abbott came in have been more of the usual rubbish. Chicksen, Walker, Effiong, Miller etc. Granted that Barnett looks alright.

What I will say is we need someone similar and of the same ilk and qualities as Dennis.
A Jamie Cureton type player. They are always expensive and every team wants one.

If we don't go up, this sort of player needs to be a priority.

Just out of interest, how many players will be over 30 (ex keepers) , in the close season, Brindley, Rawlinson, Turner, O'Brien, Doyle, McCrory, do we need younger quicker hungrier players ?

    Ferocious!😁

I hardly post on here! And even then it's just my observations about the game or the current state of affairs. It's no secret that I hate the way we play pointless possession football based around a 39 year old, and think Ardley should have gone when we were relegated... But I'm eagerly waiting to be proved wrong about him. Trouble is we keep playing absolute gash football against woeful teams.

I wish i didn't behave to be negative.

I really don’t believe that the problem is with the strikers, as someone said earlier, we could have mbappe up front and still not score. The issue lies with the midfield in general and Doyle in particular. It proved as much when Doyle went in goal allowing the midfield to start being creative and moving the ball forward. Some some reason Ardley cannot see this but whilst ever Doyle is allowed to control play, we will struggle and the forwards will have very few goal-scoring opportunities and we will have to rely on the odd occasion when either Enzio, Rodrigues (or Roberts when available) produce a flash of brilliance. WE cannot rely on this to get us promoted. Ardley have to see sense or move on.

Our best performances this season have come against limited teams that played a suicidal 3-4-3 against us and didn’t press (Wealdstone, Dagenham). We repeatedly struggle against high energy, high press sides because that’s exactly what we’re not.

We’re still a decent striker and midfielder short of mounting a serious promotion challenge, in my eyes. Please send Wolfe back if he’s never going to get game time in the league and bring someone in who can actually get on the ball and drive us forward.
