To confirm my suspicions below about future Cohorts progressing, can anyone who think they are in Cohort 7 please say if you have had a vaccine? I say this because a friend of a friend had hers yesterday, but they may also be in Cohort 6.

    Cohort 4, People aged 70-74 - 96% (95), Clinically Extremely vulnerable - 86% no or little progress?
    Cohort 5, People aged 65-69 80% (78)
Cohort 6, 16-64 with underlying health is also progressing.
Cohort 7, 60-64 i believe is also progressing.

A slow day for whatever reason with 19299 first doses and 2006 second doses administered. With the usual Sunday downturn, the shine is coming off this effort, but its surely a supply issue taking effect.

Friend of mines (Cohort 6) got a phone call to come in as there were vaccines going to go to waste, he wasn't expecting a jab so soon.

Thanks for the replies. Reason i ask is, my maw is Cohort 5, but had heard nothing about her place in the que, even though that Cohort was racing through 60%, which is leading me to believe that younger Cohorts are not all being invited and may need to call up to arrange their appointment. Im also unsure up to what Cohort has to be completed by end of next week, which doesnt leave much time to get up to Cohort 7 completed, if that is the target.

As usual, i am away to listen to Nic, so will see what she says.

Well, with me they called on the day of the appointment so there was no letter or advance notice or anything...

Just listened to Nic there and my understanding now is that you and the Cohort 7 people i know who have had their vaccination is from filling slots to ensure there is as little waste as is possible. In pursuit of ensuring as little waste as possible, there have been others of all ages, but in key roles, who have answered late calls, sometimes at very, very short notice. I think this is part of the 75000 extra doses administered as the process has progressed.

It seems to be the end of Cohort 5 that is the target for early March, but that appears to be already above 80% so just catching all the stragglers.

In a way, i am glad some of Cohort 6 members have been caught early, as you are in a Cohort of pushing on for a million people and any getting ahead of the game is to be applauded.

Hmmmm. It seemed like there was an awful lot of cohort-6 folk there when i went for it to be wastage avoidance to be honest.

Thats maybe how they are managing to keep waste under 2%, rather than the 5% that is in the planning. Im sure Nic said today that Cohort 6 invites are starting to be sent out today, unless you and those with you on the day are considered within Cohort 4?

Possibly, I don't think so but who knows what the exact criteria is...

The main thing is, the people on the shop floor started asking questions after excess vaccines were thrown in the bin early doors, and guidelines were adapted to minimize waste.
