Yip, that seems fair to me. Age, health, dangerous work situation, then everyone as quick as possible.

We are actually quite a decent bit down that road. Brilliant work being done here. Hats off to all involved.

Cant make the same argument in relation to taxi and bus drivers, because the ones that have been lucky enough to stay in work have been in constant risk throughout, and therefore their case is proved beyond doubt. The more restrictions are reduced with half the population not vaccinated, the more risk they will be subjected to and should be at the head of the que when Cohort 9 is complete, or sooner if supply or waste reduction allows!

And you are right about teachers pay, but they have been working, even if that is from home. Im not sure of what that has to do with them getting a vaccine early or not though?

A case for quarantine for all passengers at point of entry and not letting them travel on?

"Meanwhile the three Scottish residents had flown to Scotland from Brazil via Paris and London, the Scottish government said."

Who the fu*k are these people? It must be work related at a very high level to let them travel through so many places.

    Time for some positivity.

I see new Daily Infections are on the way down again and i hope to bring a huge lump of positivity into this tomorrow from that. The talk off this new new Brazil mutation does bring in a bit of reality back in though.

And guess what? They're about to be removed again thanks to a two week Easter break followed by a seven week summer break.

Infections also started to rise when restaurants opened back up. Has the hospitality trade not been closed the same amount of time as schools? Look at that chart and tell me why there is no clamour for those in the hospitality trade to be prioritised when they go back in 4/6 weeks time.

Essential shop workers have been working in the face of it since day one but not a peep about them either. Join the queue like the rest of us.

aye they did for they categories but did no one think about the categories after most vulnerable? you could have essential workers way down the line due to age but more at risk due to their profession than say someone in their 50's with no health issues but they're next in line

With Cohort 6-9 to be completed by mid-April, the time is there to prepare for all public facing people to get their place on the list, and until then, given priority in the name of reducing waste!
agree chick, should be relatively easy to get names from databases

I think you are picking on the wrong person here as i believe ALL public facing people should be vaccinated sooner rather than later if the desire is there to head back to normal. Part of the list has been mentioned in several posts by several people in the last few pages.

My stance with teachers and their STAFF is 1, my wife is a staff member, and 2, i dont think the data that people are relying on was gathered in the right circumstances when their risk was minimal.

I believe a 28 year old classroom assistant in Northern Ireland passed away after a positive Covid test recently!

With the dominant Kent strain, younger people are getting severe symptoms, ending up in hospital and passing away.
