Oh the ironing coming from you. I must have answered close to 100 questions from you, you fire them out like confetti.

Obviously when I ask questions back its not quite the same story. As Henry Kelly would say "you're playing catch up".
Yes to everything you say xx

    Good point, well made.

We have had a constant stream of signings from one or two divisions higher, with some up and coming youngsters, but we rarely dominate anyone and in all his time here I can't remember us stringing more than two or three good performances together.

Effiong is built for this division and scored something like 17 goals in a crap team last year. In his first interview he said that there was a lot to learn about Ardley's system but he was eager and willing to do what the manager asked. Now he's a joke figure who can hardly control the ball.

Elisha Sam is big, quick, skilful and has a cracking shot on him, but months after we signed him we still don't know where to play him.

We score way more goals with Knowles on the pitch than without him, but rarely start with him.

Enzio is being transformed into a defensive wide midfielder.

We all know what a good lower division central midfield looks like (Bishop and Ravenhill) and how many games that kind of mobility and aggression will win you, but we choose Doyle and Reeves every game when fit.

I've been saying for a while that this season would be like a Munto season. Remember when we were hovering around 5th in L2 with no consistency, and people started saying the players weren't good enough? Then a new manager came in with proper motivational skills and a simple but effective game plan everyone could buy into, and it turned out they were actually very good indeed.

I'm sure that's exactly where we are now, only I've resigned myself to the fact that there will be no change.
    Excellent post.
I think this just about sums everything up in a nutshell.

    Didn't bottle it?

His first season he took over with Mansfailed under Evans looking all set for automatic promotion and in good form.

He had 12 games in charge of a talented in form side, he won just 2 of them games which resulted in them amazingly not even qualifying for the playoffs! That's a choke of epic proportions.

Next season heavily backed by Radford and they lost to Newport in play offs. Wasn't good enough for chairman, sacked.

He had a couple of stints there, doing exceptionally well in his first stint. Think he fell off the pace a little during his last spell and they were actually relegated season before last under him but reprieved thanks to the Gateshead admin situation. Also there was definitely some discontent around him refusing to get any of the promising academy players involved in the first team.

They seem to really like Danny Searle at the moment, he has a good footballing brain and has really made the most of their youth set up. I'm glad Saturday's game was postponed, I think we would have taken a bit of a tonking had we played.

If anything convinces me that flitcroft must be a good manager is a certain persons dislike of him.

I think he lead them two play off campaigns but was then forced to sell of players in his final spell?
I'm not sure what kind of budget he had or if it was done on a shoe string or if money was thrown at the team?
I remember when he was at wycombe' the movement in their team was awesome.we were chasing shadows at times.
Hes was a coach at MK Don's and is at cambridge now.
To me it seems like a good experienced manager is going to waste.
If he still has the passion for the game he could be a good appointment.

You don't keep your promsises Ken.

He's ok, I just wouldn't want him. I know John Radford didn't think he was a good manager nor did a lot of Stags fans.

An epic choke, then a failed playoff campaign. Sacked.

Any of the above or anyone else would you pick option B? Or is every Notts fan on here A?
Even though I have written many times I would love ardley to get us promotion I somehow seem to have ended up on this list.
Incidently I believe all the others on the list have held the same view and written as such.
Our or my only crime is to think that Ardley isn't capable of getting us promoted.
Certainly not with his current approach to a game.
we also believe he isn't capable of changing that approach and 2 seasons plus of the same thing some would say we/I might be correct.

However it is still good to see a balanced view from the poster

Yep, got Aldershot promoted to the football league and with a record 101 points so definitely knows/knew how to get teams attacking.
