Don't know what game you were watching but Llorente was easily our best defender tonight. He is the only one who looks comfortable on the ball and he played one great pass that put it on a plate for Barndoor who (unsurprisingly) hoofed it wide.

Stand by what I said, looked flustered and lightweight, incapable of man-marking and of playing out of defence, bit like Cooper.

He is easily our best defender, he shows it time and time again despite his lack of minutes on the pitch. No idea what game you watched.

Weird game that for me, we didn't get outclassed or outplayed or anythign really. Ayling just as usual got mugged off by someone with a bit of skill and put a stupid tackle in then Llorente or Ayling lose a man at a corner and its game over.

Coupe that with us not finishing any chances which were all better than anything West Ham fashioned the only conclusion really is that we beat ourselves.

Frustrating but like i've said before these are championship quality players out of their depth and with any other manager in the world they'd still be in the Championship. Bielsa has worked wonders to have a team with these players in safe in the PL.

Hope we kick on a bit this season. I'd like to now see someone like Drameh, Huggins, Gelhadrt etc get a few minutes obviously not chuck them all in but give one or two a few games just to see what they can do. No point in my eyes wasting any more time on Costa or Roberts get them sold.

Good summary and would like to see any of the youngsters you mention get minutes.

Llorente at fault for second goal, ayling the first, Bamford at fault for 2 decent chances missed, would still have lost as west ham hit post and bar, not quite good enough yet.

The team at the end looked better and thought bar the corner Llorente looked good - not least given how few games he has played for us. He and Cooper looked fairly comfortable together.

As you say we are not quite good enough to comfortably compete against these type of teams yet.

So apart from gifting them a goal, Llorente was fine? Bit like Ayling was ok apart from sticking his foot out.

We competed quite well against the likes of Liverpool and City (admittedly not coming away with wins, but that early in the season, just having gained promotion? Seems like we have gone backwards not forwards). We made Leicester look ordinary (and were shy of Roberts and Costa and their "contribution"!), gave a good account of ourselves against Everton, and have the same players available now as then, we just didn't have them on the park to start with.

Not sure why we performed as we did yesterday, lack of sharpness, poor passing, (playing with nine men (or perhaps 8.5 if you take Klich into account) for 45 minutes didn't help of course), poor defending (especially 1st half, second there was nowhere near the same pressuring going on), gifting two goals in first 30 minutes. We seem to revel in making the job harder (the aforementioned selections, tippy tappy in the 18yd area nearly cost us another goal, when will that stop?).

Don't be getting excited about him playing gelhart, dramah etc.
He will play Costa and Roberts first.
