    Murray Walker

One of the great personalities of motor racing; made some great gaffes but always seemed to be able to see the humour in his own mistakes. I used to love motor racing years ago but in recent years it has become dull and boring. Many formula one drivers, or Grand Prix drivers as they used to be, were themselves great characters and Murray Walker just fitted in to the scene at the time. There’s never been another commentator like him and I doubt that there will be another.

    RIP

    I couldn’t stand his commentary.

He got lucky having James Hunt next to him for a period.

All about opinions I guess but the F1 commentary on SKY now is much better in my opinion.

I thought he had died years ago! Still RIP Murray never forget his genuine emotion when Damon Hill won the championship.

I wasn’t particularly keen on his style of commentary either, but he was a character and sport is all the better for characters; he put his heart and soul into it, he deserves much credit for that.
