I haven't seen the goal but it's worth remembering the ball doesn't need to be 'in' the quadrant. So long as part of the ball, even a fraction of it, is overhanging the line then it's fine.

Why was Dunk's headed goal for Brighton not disallowed? The ball was clearly outside of the quadrant when the corner was taken and should have been retaken. You could say what difference does a couple of inches make but we've seen so many goals disallowed for offside by VAR this season which were more marginal. It didn't take VAR either as the linesman was only about a foot away. Inconsistency and poor officiating again. I don't think any of the commentators or pundits mentioned it either.

As far as I could see '68, no part of the ball was touchinge the line. To me it looked easily outside of the line.
No mention of it on 'Sky's Ref. Watch' so perhaps l'm wrong.
Quite right Lb, ive been going on about the corner kick for a while. I was under the impression part of the ball MUST be touching the quadrant. However on checking the FA law it states, amongst other things
Procedure
The ball must be placed in the corner area
The ball must be stationary and is kicked by a player of the attacking team
The ball is in play when it is kicked and clearly moves; it does not need to leave the corner area
The corner flagpost must not be moved
Opponents must remain at least 9.15 m (10 yds) from the corner arc until the ball is in play
So the ball is placed in the corner area?? Should that be meant to read as in the Quadrant/arc? The law doesn't say so. Regarding the BRighton goal, the official had a clear view of the ball and it was NOT touching the quadrant. So what is the corner quadrant for? The law does appear to be a bit open to interpretation.

Albionic68 is right. At least part of the ball must "overhang" the line Same as all of the ball must cross the line to count as a goal Can't really tell from that camera view, but cant balieve the lino would let it go if it was all outside.
Thanks for the images phild, they're better than the ones on my TV for some reason. Subsequently, I am more convinced that none of the ball overhung the lines of the quadrant/corner area.
Tipps, I wouldn't be so presumtuous as to ask your lady wife a question like that.
Why, when I press a smiley face, does it come up as two question marks?
