So here's a non-point scoring bit of good news, and I'll keep shouting this whatever's happening elsewhere. UK first dose vaccinations were today 421kper day (seven day average), the highest since 11th february and the third highest ever. Today's (ie today's reported, so yesterday's jabs) individual figure of 528k was also the third highest ever and the highest weekday ever. Don't see much vaccine hesitancy there, and clearly the logistics army are up to the task. To use an age old plaudit, give 'em a carrot, every one

    This will please RA,
I am going to slaughter the government for pampering to box ticking over COVID.
This is wrong on so many levels and could be easily deemed as racist/***ist.

First we have GP's going into Mosques for extra money, trying to get Muslims to take the vaccine.
Now we have a womens only vaccination centre open in Keighley Bradford?

Will we be having men only centres, or Church visits? What about Wetherspoons?

    Oh God, here we go, racist...blah, s*exist...blah, Mosques...blah, RA...blah, Telegraph...blah, Muslims...blah, women only...blah, Express says...blah, Ursula von der Leyen...blah, EU...blah.....
Thanks for making my point about the divisive, s**t stirring mentality that is currently becoming so prevalent so well this week. I shall now follow Swale’s advice and stop giving you the attention you crave.

I must say that in an age of equality, women (rightly) being let into traditionally male domains such as golf clubs, yacht clubs etc it seems a backward step to have segregated vaccine centres. But if it works - and I assume it is focussed on a particular niche group - and gets the %age vaccinated up, then why not??

Why not (and stressing that I have no axe to grind about one niche group over another) because if the effort is coming out of a finite resource, then its not making best use of the resources available. Addressing the significantly bigger, 'non niche' population would provide a bigger bang for the buck just based on simple maths, assuming any given soul is equally as likely to get vacced as a result of any presure applied

Thats counter intuitive surely? Those that will willingly get and can access the vaccine are dong so, so it makes sense to target those "harder to reach" groups so that we do not have a significant number of unvaccinated people in the country. Otherwise there is the potential for mutant variants occurring which existing vaccines may not be so effective against.

But then you do have quite a narrow prism through which you view the world.

You may as well ignore him, he is lost in his own world of fantasy and lies, though he is probably on the anti lockdown March that is taking place in London today!

What do you mean 'harder to reach', this isn't bloody Mars. I'd explain the maths to you as I have done with other folk but I've learned that you will not be enlightened by anyone you don't see in mirror image
