We are reported to have opened signing talks with Peter Pawlett. Was he not reportedly on 'big' wages for us? I presume he wouldn't be offered enhanced terms?

The likelihood is that our transfer dealings will go on until the end of the transfer window.
I suppose that's just where most Scottish clubs are ATM.
It would be nice to get our business done early if at all possible. A good pre-season with the squad that are here for the season would be great.
Let's get the squad back early so we can have a proper go at a LC run. I don't like the way the group stages have become part of 'pres-season'. It's still a major trophy and I would love to see us compete strongly in the competition. So, back early and a good few friendlies before that competition starts in earnest.

Im not sure how I feel about this. In the time that he has been here I’ve seen very little consistency and ability to make me think this is a good idea.

Offshore mentioned Pawlett was signing a pre-contract with St Johnstone. Is that not right then? Just speculation?

Absolutely no point in keeping Pawlett, would be up there with renewing Connolly's contract if we do.

Except this time it would 100% be the managers decision and for that, I'd have to be seriously questioning if Mellon was the right man to be taking us forward. Giving extensions to guys like Pawlett is going to get us nowhere. Originally Posted by JUSTaway
