A manager is a manager, he/she needs to be a leader of men/women and does not necessarily need to have done that type of work at the highest level or professionally. In football terms, players would run through brick walls for Brian Clough because he motivated and inspired them and although Clough did play professionally, his career was cut short due to injury and so did not have a particularly outstanding footballing career. Some people naturally have Leadership qualities - this cannot always be taught, its a little like someone who is an ‘Alpha-male’. People will follow a good leader in all walks of life just ask any battle-hardened solder.

The most successful premiership manager by a long way was Alex Ferguson, the most influential British managers in history have been Matt Busby, Bill Shankly,Jock Stein and Bob Paisley, our finest manager was Jimmy Sirrel, anyone spot anything ? Yes, they were all socialists 😁
Wasted on you.
