Absolutely right Grist, because whilst changing managers does work for some, Barnsley for example, and even Birmingham it did the business for, in our situation it would need more investment to make us a more viable championship team.
How much more is more investment though? and if TS decides to take somebody onboard to help out financially, do we keep PW on to oversee that? I know I would, or do we look for someone else? There are too many unanswered questions for me about the need to change manager, but without any more investment, could we do something else to help ourselves?
There has been a lot said about PW only wanting players of good character, but would he be willing to change his moral stance to ask himself, well I know this player can be trouble, but he could do a job for me, because on that footing there is a whole new untapped group of players out there who might make the difference.
If we do go down, as seems more likely than not, why would we want to change a proven manager at div 1 level for either another more experienced manager, who may also be proven at div 1 but bombed in championship, or even change him for a new up and coming manager, who hasn't proved too much yet? that would be called rolling the dice.
When clubs change managers it's usually because he's doing a poor job but, from what I've seen, most of our fan base are behind PW and rightly so IMO. He has made mistakes that's for sure, but to change managers if we go down would for me be madness but the season isn't finished just yet UTM
