They remortgage their houses and cash in their pensions which should cover the costs for the first year.
They then recruit another ten fans for the second year and so on. A sort of pyramid selling scheme or ponzi arrangement
Obviously they would need to be aware that next season could have very limited income through the turnstiles again

Once they've given their savings and house to some undeserving, overpaid footballers they would be fully entitled to come on here and have a right good whinge
who are the fans you are referring too? Not read anything on this board that fans are wanting players signed up on 15grand aweek on 4 year deals . I’d like longer contacts for our better players so we get more money when or if they leave. But what Rotherham don’t do is start contract talks early . Keep saying it I’m not wanting million pound players but maybe better quality loan signing . But the chairman is fireproof above criticism. Easier to aim a gun at our manager.

If you want longer contracts, that's ok, provided that you understand that players are likely to want a larger financial package to be willing to tie themselves down in that fashion. In other words, you would price yourself out of a larger part of the transfer market.

As for wanting longer contracts for only the 'better players', how are you going to tell who are the better players when you sign them and agree a contract? Sure, you can look at their history, but some players 'click' in a team where others don't. In Rotherham's history you have Tom Pope, who failed to thrive at the club, but scored for fun at Port Vale. Dexter Blackstock is another one - great pedigree, but his signing on a 3 year contract didn't really work out did it?
