If fans have taken to this style of play I am happy to leave them to it. Not for me.

Have to disagree once again.. some of our performances since the turn of the year have been brilliant. We play plenty football but in the area to hurt opposition. And to be honest the opposition usually resorts to hoofing not us... I for one have total faith in the players, val and my beloved Barnsley F.C.
Ill be joining the players and club on a social media hiatus till Tuesday....
    YOU REDS

My only thought is this hoofball no skill tag is a little unjust...getting the wing backs to play there game high. As opposed to the old fashioned full backs playing on our 18 yard box. We play some lovely stuff in there 3rd of the pitch

All abart opinions but Val has simply opted for this system with the squad he has at his disposal. It's obviously very effective as we were in the bottom 2 after 7 games tippy tapping abart across defence.

We're young and fit, we ev defenders who aren't ball players so why the feck would we pass the ball art from the back and lose every week?

We also have 6 different kinds of striker who have all been excellent this season and made a huge contribution.

Brittain and Styles bombing forrard and creating.

I've personally enjoyed it. Not just because we have had good results but because this football is entertaining. We look a big threat at home or away. Our defence is massively improved too. The problem is when opposition teams mirror our way of playing. It meks for dull viewing because it turns into head tennis and hoof.

It would be interesting to look at the figures over the last ten years in the Championship, when many posts lamented the fact that we never got penalties and that we should go down more in the area.
That's cos we always in bottom 6. When tha darn theear tha seldom gets into the opposition box, let alone get penalties so the comparison is totally unfair in my eyes. The 96/97 season was a good barometer to compare to this season because we were successful near the top of the division.

99/00 was also a good comparison because again, it was a successful season. 12 penalties were awarded that season in all comps.
