    Positive Drunk Thread

So I am posting having sank quite a few BrewDog cans and quite a bit of Hawksbill rum - I can recommend both. I know a certain other poster on here has occasionally contributed his thoughts whilst a bit worse for wear and has caused, shall we say, a bit of controversy. Well, let me conversely post a positive drunken happy thread about NCM.

As a Notts fan living alone in a studio flat in Sheffield, I have very much appreciated this forum during lockdown. I have a pal who I text during games but it has also been great to read the discussions and occasionally contribute. The running battles between certain posters (looking at you Elite and Laddo) have also been entertaining. Only on #NCM as some might say!

This season is increasingly looking like it won't end well (I have personally written us off reaching the play offs - would love to be wrong) but regardless I hope you all look after yourselves and that we all see each other down Meadow Lane soon enough - I guess at Weymouth. I miss my train journeys to Nottingham.

My Grandad Les took me down to the lane as a lad, and in doing so stopped the red elements of my family who took me to the City Ground several times in the hope I'd join the dark side. If he can get through a world war, I can get through a bad Notts season.

Here's to things improving next season. Believing that might invoke irrational optimism, but if being a Notts fan had a 'Required Skills' section, that would be first on the list!

More of a heart burning post for me, I'm not allowed Brewdog and can't stand rum.

Substitute cider and vodka, and I agree with Slocky that it helps a lot if you're a Notts fan.

Isn't there gluten free beer in the UK Elite? There is here and it's not too bad.

There is, but it's bloody expensive and usually only comes in small bottles. For example, Brewdog do a 4.5% gluten free pale ale at £2 for a 330ml bottle (£3.44 per pint), Aldi do a 5% cider at £1.99 for a 2 litre bottle (57p per pint). One sixth of the price makes it an easy choice. I'm lucky in that I prefer a really dry cider, which tends to be the cheapest. I find even the medium ones far too sickly.

Had some hazy Jane and some Elvis juice. Has dulled the pain of watching today's game to some extent. Beware Elvis juice. It's wild strong!

    He don't mind - he's a gluten for punishment.

Yes I get that price! Then again I live in one of the most expensive countries in the world. Mainly as other than a bit of a dive due to COVID there has been no recession since the early 90's.
