Well that's a clear improvement i'm delighted to see. Baby steps admittedly but the fact you've even noticed some advice let alone partially taken on board is a huge step.

The title is, but the thread had evolved chap, try and keep up.

Also I didn't bring up expected goals or fair score so not guilty. I understand the basics but no more so happy to learn from those who know more.

Back on topic ncfcog and Jacob posted some interesting stuff on a subject I don't fully understand.

No, actually back on topic, Paul Mace's pre Altrincham podcast was downright pointless, as we agree, if two people where on screen, it would be great if they actually had a conversation.

I wouldn't have thought the collapse under Hardy had anything much to do with Mace. The problem at board level was Hardy no longer having the funds and Fletcher apparently being in charge of recruitment, Mace was presumably on board to represent supporter interest as well as his connections and I'm pretty sure he stepped down within a few weeks of Hardy exposing himself, when things seriously began to go wrong.

What he's said in this podcast is not what I want to hear, it's not what any Notts fan would want to hear, but it makes a lot of sense. We shouldn't fall into the trap of smearing the 'whistle blower' in the misguided belief that it invalidates the claims.
Burchnall is a very bizarre appointment. He could still come good, but there's a very sound reason why fans are beginning to freak out and IMHO Mace's podcast does as decent a job as anything else to explain why that is happening.

I agree, Paul Mace is a huge supporter of this club, nothing I've seen in any of his podcasts leads me to believe he wants anything other than the best for Notts. That he can get players and former managers to talk to him at length makes me believe that he's well thought of by all who've had dealings with him.
For him to be so alarmed so soon at the turn the club has taken should set alarm bells ringing , he's not prone to over the top rantings so maybe his first fif**** minutes though out of character are prescient rather than bitter.
