    The Big Match Revisited

On today, FAC 3rd round, 4th div Halifax v 1st div Man City, played on a quagmire of a pitch, the ground looked derelict, Halifax won 1-0, proper football played by proper players not the overpaid Nancy’s of today.
At the end of the game it was difficult to tell who was who, so much mud.

Bad memories of The Shay at Halifax when we lost 2-1 there when they were a non league club. I am pretty sure it was the 1st round of the FA cup, so it would have been early 1990s. How bad were we then?

Proper game played in front of proper supporters on a real pitch by real players. All gone now unfortunately, never to be seen again. Those of us old enough to remember these games should count our selves lucky when we look at the sanitized, politicized crap the kids have to grow up on today.
