I would tend to go along with this perspective (until proven otherwise) - Brown is putting his reputation on the line by joining us, both as a player and as a coach. Easy option would've been to stay at Celtic, play maybe 50% of the games and get some coaching role that nobody really scrutinises him in. He's making a bold statement by moving to us, and he's the kind of guy who will not do it half heartedly.

McInnes and Doc were on massive wages, so I would assume Glass is on significantly less, but adding in Russell and Brown might take the total wage for the three to about the same as what we were paying the two previously.

Getting in the right quality will be tough as the kind of players we'll be after will be in demand - so being able to sell the vision to them will be as big a part of it as matching wages offered elsewhere. If we could get Gallagher and McGrath in that would be a decent start. Keeping hold of Hedges is also absolutely ***** and adding someone else with a bit of X factor, and a couple of players who can score goals. I think Anderson has done enough in his spell at Hamilton to merit a new deal too.

I would agree with that approach pal, Anderson has shown potential, but he never fitted into the plans or the hoofball tactics of McHunnis and i would imagine because of that his confidence has taken a dunt,
Hamilton are bottom of the league so it's a hard one to judge his time there as they are not going to be creating a sh1t load of chances for Bruce to be converting.
I would give him a go based on something along the lines as to what you suggest.
I would be excited and very happy to be going all out attack next season with Anderson, Griffiths and Hendry our three pronged attack, now that would be something completely different

Agree with most of that. A brave move by Brown given he could have stayed where he was. He did indicate that we offered a two year deal and a move to learn coaching compared to Celtic's offer of one year with no manager to approve any coaching role. He said he had to be selfish and look after himself and I guess that made his decision more difficult. Does suggest that our financial offer was good enough given the added benefit of coaching.

A few years with the next best club he could be with after, his first choice, sets him up for a good move into management when he is ready.

For our side I do think that Brown signing is a massive boost in our recruitment campaign because it sends out a very strong signal of our intent to improve. Most players will be impressed that we've managed to sign Brown.
