Would he have departed if we'd been flying and still in a chance of 1st place? Is something like this more likely to happen or take on a greater significance when things are going badly?
We don't even know for sure if it's the player on the receiving end of the comment who took offence, For example, he might have called a player out for playing like "an invalid" and another player took offence because they have a disabled relative or something like that.
If it was to be deemed fairly innocuous by common consensus and everybody at Notts has now got to watch what they say, it's not going to make for a happy environment to work in. If it was serious, then all power to the owners for acting swiftly and decisively.
I guess we're all speculating because we're all wondering what kind of club and culture we are now supporting.
Some comments on here are sad! It is surely not about woke nor a sensitive player (the Lukaku illustration used is simply ridiculous in this case) or he would not have gone, nor said that the club have acted impeccably.
We have to move on, big game tonight. Hope MR takes time to reflect on whatever has happened and can further his career, but we can't let it affect the club further.
Discriminatory comment made to one of the players team mates according to the red rag

Red Rag:
Sources have told Nottinghamshire Live that it was of a discriminatory nature. Mr Ross has not denied these allegations when put to him by this publication.
Several Notts players are understood to have registered a complaint to chief executive Jason Turner prior to training on Monday morning from which Mr Ross was absent.
Yeah, I'd hazard a guess that IB's got another problem on his hands (as if he didn't have enough already!) and that's a split squad...for the group that complained there could be another that liked him. Obviously, there would be no room for this nonsense when the club is desperately trying to salvage the season.
You can't compare the 2 eras, they're completely different.
A lot of what went on back then was wrong but the world just accepted it, good to see times have moved on.
MR has obviously said something he shouldn't as he's not contesting the sacking. Sad but the right call to remove him from his position.
