What a lie that is, and is a misquote anyway.

Yes it is misquoted and words can hurt deeply of course. But it is still a useful little rhyme that my mother told me sixty years ago and wise parents will tell their children today.

Not necessarily, what you have said straightens things out is just speculation. He could have made it to one of the players who had come off, or to one of the players who was still on the pitch. So you haven't got anything straight!

Now we have the subs being blamed - hence the post naming them.

Maybe we haven't got a split dressing room - why do we have to be so down on the players all the time?

You have to ask why we're down on the players? Maybe if they showed some fight and spirit on the pitch rather than talking the talk off, then they might get an easier ride.

... unless commented upon earlier, am slightly surprised that the player(s) appear to have gone directly to Jason. Ordinarily, one would go via the line manager, ie., IB. Perhaps he did and, as this must be gross misconduct, IB would have no option to refer to Jason. Just saying, like ...

The Football Association is investigating an allegation a Forest Green Rovers player suffered homophobic abuse from a Tranmere Rovers player.

The incident is alleged to have happened during the League Two match between the two sides on Saturday, which Forest Green won 2-1.

The game was played behind closed doors at The New Lawn due to Covid-19 rules.

"The allegation is strongly denied by the player in question," Tranmere Rovers said in a statement.

"Whilst the club has a zero-tolerance policy to any form of homophobic abuse, given the strong denial of the incident we will await the outcome of any FA investigation before commenting further."
