I agree. Most of us thought we were likely to go stright down, the main thing was to stay up. Eye watering to watch at times but his hands have been tied completely by the pandemic and the court case and coming into the job at the last minute with no pre-season.
Give him the next season and some money to buy players and if theres no improvement then sure, bye-bye. I'd be surprised if he doesnt improve the team. I am still due to have dinner with him when circumstances allow so he better not leave!
I've been wanting to ask him stuff all season!
Get some money in by moving on Shankland (regrettably but we are holding the lad back) and Benji and use 1/2 of the money to fund the team. Mickey has to get the chance to buy his own players. This is Robbies team he is playing with for the most part and we didnt think Robbies team was very good
We stayed up and thats that. I'm taking that as success in our first season back.
This is close to where I'm at and why I'm happy to give the manager the benefit of doubt and another season. I wont lie, the contract extensions are concerning as are the squeezing in of the three strikers. Failing to give Appere and Chalmers a chance yesterday was just baffling. To make two subs and leave those two on the bench is unexplainable. If he's going to be a stubborn 'play his favourites' manager despite form then he won't last long, especially if fans get back into the ground next season. Then again, how many of our managers haven't been stubborn b*stards and played their favourites?
I am certainly in the MM should stay camp. The football has not been pretty but it has been effective enough to do what was needed; remaining in the Premiership. Whatever tactics you play, if a team cannot pass a ball 10 yards to their own team mate, then you are on a loser. I am not sure that is coached.
The re-signing of older players concerns us all probably and possibly not ideal, but with no idea of how MM wants us to progress then we need to trust his judgement. But as another thread says, who? if MM does go, no guarantee of the free flowing football or results.
Thats the most sensible post on here terry (apart from this one of course). I was pissed up and pissed off on Saturday at the ref (as per), missing chances, Ian fkn Harkes, bad headers etc. sadly that was still one of our best performances of the season as we actually had a shot on target. Def think MM should be allowed to build - rumours he has asked to sign a swedish international winger/attacking mid a couple of signings and some kids being allowed to play next season. I fear he is away though.
Im also convinced we would have scored at 1-0. I see sky sports are taking the p!ss out of our refs and officials. Rightly so.
