If JET is a back up striker (which feels right) then what is Hendry as he surely is not the level of striker we need to start games and score goals a season

From what I understand Watford have had 2 bids turned down for Ferguson. They have been given a figure to hit, and if as expected they come back in, I'd expect him to go.

Sunderland have only made an enquiry on McCrorie, so that one has been exaggerated. Sunderland have also made an enquiry for Ferguson, but they wont pay the asking price.

The JET deal is done, although not formally signed, I'd expect that to go through this week. The club are after 3 strikers, JET is not seen as a first choice every week, more of a different option for different games. I understand the delay is caused by the uncertainty over the availability of Callum Hendry. Alan Russell likes him, and the club would take him, but St Johnstone are holding out for a fee, so that's probably the end of that, allowing the JET deal to be completed. That may be revisited if first and second choice cannot be achieved. There are some exciting names on that list, but as you can imagine there's a lot up in the air.

McGinn has been offered a new deal on much reduced money. Devlin too, although it may turn out to be a 'pay as you play'

On the subject of Alan Russell the club are less than impressed with his lack of transparency regarding his recent charge. A big emphasis in the statement on the word 'now'

A few other things bubbling along, expect some news later this week..................... big 10 days ahead.
Thanks Mainstandmoan, with all due respect to Donsdaft, your my favourite poster

You're right, he's not the level we should be looking at just curious as to how much saints can realistically be after for him.

    Something in the £50-100,000 range?

    would say £75k max.
He was the 4th choice striker at Perth before we took him on lone ffs. Would be happy to have him onboard as a squad striker but neither him nor Jet should be our first choice

For me it’s get these two first choices signed as MSM has said there’s some exciting names being mentioned.

JET for 3rd choice/specific games would be fine and I still think we owe Bruce Anderson a chance to work with Alan Russell and see if he can get him firing on all cylinders for us .

"Exciting names" - I love it when MSM posts... but what a tease... haha

McGinn has probably been my favourite Aberdeen player in the last 10 years, but he's pretty much past it now. Yes, he's still capable of the odd bit of class, but generally he's a bit too slow, and adding on another year to his age, I don't really see how much he can offer.

I hope we don't sign Hendry. He's just not good enough. I like his attitude and effort, but we wasted years on guys like Stevie May and Curtis Main because they had those attributes. We need that but with an ability to score goals.

The Devlin offer is probably the most difficult to get your head round. I'd be cutting my losses on him as quickly as possible. Waste of time and money.

Glass will need to get quite a few bodies in the door in the next couple weeks as they'll need the pre-season together to bond and gel - if you've got maybe 7 or 8 new players in the starting line up and another 3 or 4 new players on the bench, we don't want them arriving just as the season begins and taking til Christmas to start working out how to play together.

    He's not.
