For me, I want a method for blocking puerile crap without blocking opinion that I might disagree with, unfortunately I don't think such a thing exists, so I've had to block the most puerile of posters.

Exactly this for me which is why I blocked Laddo and no-one else because all he does is stir it up and thinks he needs to correct everyone in his role as self-appointed saviour of NCM, any valid opinion or view he has is lost imo. In case you wondered I didn’t want Ardley sacked because I agreed with the stability view but the valid arguments were lost because anyone saying that was seen as a Laddo disciple which is where all the s**t started. In hindsight the sacking and subsequent appointment of Burchnall is looking like a great decision, although the initial results cost us at least one trip to Wembley and any possibility of an automatic promotion.

Do you find the blocking works though? I blocked one poster ( he knows who he is) as he contributes literally nothing to the board in a positive sense but I still see a lot of his garbage. I could not work out why. Sometimes though it says " you cant see this post as you blocked xxx or similar".

Ignore him elite it really is a blessing .he talks crap anyway so your not missing out on anything relevant or interesting.He loves arguing for arguing sake when you and me were arguing it was for a point of fact.For him he gets aroused.He has no friends so it's his substitute friend and his only enjoyment.ive learnt from my brief leaving that he tries to goad you back in.Before I could get to block him he was doing everything to goad me back in.
All he wants is to argue.just block him as you still get to enjoy the rest of the board.
Like other people do ignore him he will hate it.
Let someone else point out his hypocritical ways.

Please matey give it a go and if we get new mod (if its CF and Cher both seem to know his game)let them sort him out when he gets going.

When you are not logged in QP, you can see everyone's posts, blocked or not. When an 'unblocked' poster quotes a poster you have blocked, you can see that as well.

Yes it works, I only see the ignored posters comments if someone replies to them with quote.

When you are not logged in QP, you can see everyone's posts, blocked or not. When an 'unblocked' poster quotes a poster you have blocked, you can see that as well.

I've only ever posted garbage once. That was in 2007 and I have just continued with it.

Ultimately its fairly pointless the blocking thing as I seem to get logged out after a period of time. It would probably be better if you have to be logged in to use the board and read anything and that you weren't actually told the post was removed and that the replies were not visible, However the forum technology on this board is probably older than most of the posters which is saying something! Still if the worst thing that happens in my day is that I see some pointless tirade from someone I don't want to hear from then its not so bad. COYP lets hope for 3 points against Wrexham.
