Haha, actually there have been very few claims! I don't think he'll be first name on the teamsheet. I'm not bowled over by this signing I think he'll be a squad player.

Enough of this banter. And good luck with the playoffs.

He played some excellent games under Nolan in centre mid but some absolute shockers at full back. Not sure why that is as he has all the physical attributes to be a dominant full back but was woeful in 1 on 1 situations.

Wouldn't get in the current Notts side at full back or centre back but would take as midfielder due to his mobility around the pitch

Utility man, because he's not very good anywhere but can occasionally be alright, if he's going to be a squad player it might not be the worst signing but that's about as positive of a spin you can put on it.

I agree with the other point made, he wouldn't get in our team currently and the reply to that mentioning the league we're in... Well if Elliot keeps getting relegated from League 2 obviously him and the teams he's playing for are no better than this level are they?

It looks like they have lowered the bar , the budget and their ambitions !

I thought Hewitt was good for us in midfield a few years back, particularly in that spell alongside Ryan Yates. I do remember the odd defensive lapse by him too, but he wouldn't have played over 100 games for us if he was as bad as some of our fans are making out.

As with Hewitt, Knowles will be a better player with good players and a good manager around him. 👍

Enjoy the rest of your National League season.
Your opinion of Hewitt will depend on who you have in the midfield with him. Assuming you play him there, because trust me play him in the defence and it will be like playing with 10 men. However get him a good partner/partners say Ryan Yates type players and he will be fine. Stick with the midfield you have however and you’ll be frustrated with Hewitt very quickly.

Decent defensive midfielder, passable emergency centre back, awful right back.

Not a great signing, but not a bad one either.

Had quite a lot of potential when he joined us. Sadly never really realised it. Was good in center mid with Yates.

Never play him at right back and you will be alright I guess.
