Sunderland 2 Lincoln 1 - Lincoln win 3-2 on aggregate

Sunderland were on fire the first half and deservedly led 2-0 and should have been 3 up but for an inexplicable miss by Charlie Wyke.

Second half the exact opposite. Lincoln score and then miss a pen & also have had three or four guilt edged chances.

    Congratulations Lincoln.

Sunderland will be in League 1 again next season.

Beat me to it pal. Not been to Sunderland before so looking forward to visiting their ground. Look like they could be a right handful next season, depends who they keep and bring in.

Well done to Lincoln but I think they're in a for a drubbing against Blackpool in the final.

Yes, well done Lincoln City, should be a decent final with Blackpool.

    Fourth consecutive season awaits Sunderland....👍

It's a lovely ground Brin, built not too far from where Roker Park was.
    A Premiership ground with a League 1 team...😃

I think the final is 50-50 to be fair but if Blackpool get 2 up as quick as Sunderland did, there will be no way back.
However, if Lincoln stay in the game and don’t get caught like rabbits in the headlights as they were today, they could edge it.
Will be delighted if they do as it would be the first time they will have played in the second tier for 60 years.

Lincoln City missed a penalty, added pressure to themselves.

I didn't know that Sunderland have no less than 15 players out of contract! Now that's a real rebuilding exercise if some don't re sign.

Went there I think it was 2005 midweek lost 1-4 on a snowy cold night.

I'll look for this one when the fixtures come out. I love a trip to the Northeast

I had to look it up, October 2003 when I saw us there.
    We won 0-0 .
Seriously, really battling defensive display from us if I remember correctly. Can't remember if we had many chances at the other end, but do remember how friendly the Sunderland fans where before and after the game.

By the way pip_y, it was 2005 for the 4-1, Feb 22. Noticed it when I looked the 0-0 up.
