Absolutely right.
For me, very occasionally you might want a dismissal but don't express that directly
And very very occasionally you want a dismissal and make that clear on places like this...
More often you're gutted it's happened (Short, Allen, Moniz, Kewell - speaking for myself still)
NA was none of those for me, he fell into the 'I hope you can sort this out...but I'll understand why, if it happens' category.
But always you want success and to win every game.
I hope Neal lands the Barrow job or another one very soon and we get to play him (in the FL) for many years. I think he'd be one of those ex-managers to get a warm welcome on his return.
Agree with most of the rest you posted.
But I see this “we would have gone up automatically” posted a fair bit.
If it was “we would have caught barrow” I would agree 100%
But Harrogate are frequently forgotten in this.
They were 3 points ahead of us and had picked up only 1 less point than us in their previous 5 games and were on a longer unbeaten run than us. And had a game in hand on us!
There were also, and it’s hard to argue after they beat us twice straight after, better than us.
Do we really believe with 8 games remaining we’d have picked up 6 points more than Harrogate? When they were in similar or some could argue better form than us?
Or can we put this “we would have gone up automatically” to bed and face the fact that Harrogate would almost certainly have pipped us had we caught Barrow (which I think we would have)
I will concede that we may still have been promoted in the playoffs having not had to face Harrogate.

All a bit pointless really. The best 2 teams over the course of the season went up and both have stayed up. One has even done fairly well considering and they also beat us again this season. I am happy with where we are playing good football winning games with a manager who seems to know what he is doing and thankfully Ardley gone.
Laddo please put Pedro on ignore.
Elite and Laddo please ignore each other.
Your infatuation with one another is dreary AF to be frank. And don't tell me to just not read it. All of you post OTHER perfectly good and highly relevant notts opinions that I do want to read.
But it wasn’t over the course of a complete season. We will never know for sure what would have happened.
Imagine if lockdown had happened this season 6-7 games ago. We would have been in serious danger of missing the playoffs. But then we have had the mini run since.
Who is to say that Barrow, Harrogate, Notts or any team in the top 10 would have done what we did 12 games ago in terms of the bad run or what we have done since? Just because we were on a semi decent run prior to the lockdown can’t provide an automatic assumption that something definitive would have happened.
We were lucky enough to have a shot at promotion and we simply didn’t perform on the day. It happens. It may even happen in the next few weeks.
I would never utter the phrase "if you don't like it don't read it" because it infests so many threads. This thread being a prime example , when I woke up to the usual toss from the usual suspects. My crime is responding to the drivel.
I've suggested we all ignore each other multiple times, numerous other persons not directly involved have suggested the same. Sadly each and every time Elite won't play ball and flatly refuses to ignore anyone. Pedro made the first step and apparently is ignoring me, not that you would know. Doesn't seemed to have stemmed the flow at all.
The alternative option put forward is the handbags thread but now that is being ignored by all not just me.
I'm afraid it looks like we may be heading back to the dark days of a free for all, nicknames, insults, lols, #s and not forgeting xxxxx.
Which lets be honest would be ridiculous in the current circumstances thanks to the incredible turnaround the head coach had performed recently. Almost all talk should surely be about matters on the pitch at this crucial and exciting time of the season.
Shouldn't it?
I wasn’t suggesting it was end of discussion because I said so. Maybe I should of added a ?.
NA’s time has our manager has been discussed to death. Varying opinions about his tenure and dismissal. I don’t believe there’s much more to say?
And yes, I would suppose folks will have an opinion about NA’s potential move. Different discussion to the one about his time at Notts, in my opinion.
Is that ok with you?
