Things people say in the media are always different to what is really going on

    Well that's that then.

A good manager gone after a season. What the fk is going on?

I wish Mellon all the best in whatever he does next and am totally gutted for him if he's been forced out but I suppose we'll never find out as the club will have probably paid up the rest of his contract on the premise that he shuts his pus.

It looks like Ashgar is the man making all the decisions.
Especially after the new contract MM kept Pawlett mainly on the subs bench. Connolly is another who was given an extended contract and it is now clear MM prefers Edwards and Reynolds as a defensive partnership.

The Connolly and Pawlett deals suggest to me that they are seen as future mentors for our younger players and their role may involve a more active role in development. Not really stressed about keeping some senior players in and around the first team and them also playing their part in the squad.
Everything is suggesting that signings, change of management and the structure of the club is all about growing our own talent. Get this right with a balance of experience with youth and it could be good......but its a risky venture! The top league looks like a toughie next season and we can't run the risk of dropping down again as this would spell disaster/ruin!

That's exactly the reason. The club wants a group of 'leaders' to help with the young players developments. That's what Connolly, Reynolds, Pawlett, Butcher and Clark are there for.

I've said this from day one. No chance Connolly was an MM extension. He'd only been in the door six weeks and hadn't even seen the boy play a game of football.

It's Mark Reynolds that is meant to be the daddy of them all. Apparently he is very clued up on what's best for young pro footballers & is very interested in their development, guiding players thro the minefield that is their playground. And in their further/continuing education. Sounds like he would be a very successful head coach/manager in the future.

    I agree.

It is most likely that Micky Mellon has disagreed with a situation regarding the sporting director and has been given a cash settlement to keep his mouth firmly shut.

Nothing to see here let's move on. Lots for everybody to be happy happy about.
