And Cathro was miles more qualified for it than TC.

It will be this Court lad or some guy that once managed Barcelona at Subbuteo........it's all about modern thinking you know
According to a post on TEK, Court has a Uefa A license which is a level below Pro license which in effect wouldn’t allow him to be head coach. Probably something United haven’t even thought about much like the Kawashima visa debacle.

If true he does not have the right license to be a head coach does his license allow him to be a manager with a head coach? If not then everyone will have to find something new to moan about I suppose.

Fairly certain special dispensation can be granted to someone working towards their Pro License.

Was that not the deal with the convicted organised criminal at Livi? As well as being a ‘fit and proper rehabilitated person’ of course.

I think this is the most interesting out of all the names suggested. Of course it is a risk, but developing our own and promoting from within is surely something we should be aiming to do with coaches as well as players.

I think the characters at play here make it all a bit more murky, but if you try to ignore the Asghar/Asghar complication the ethos of what is suggested is not a bad thing. I have been a staunch supporter of Mellon all season but if it was the principle (rather than the characters) he didn't get on board with then I think he has to carry some blame. Maybe not enough to sack him though.

I will support anyone in the dugout (now that it isn't Malky that is) but would be very keen to give Courts a chance and would have infinitely more patience with him. Plenty of panic about how this affects us for next season and a relegation fight. Again, just look at the massive change in virtually every team around us - Livi, Ross Co, St Mirren, Motherwell, Aberdeen all have big rebuilding and squad remodelling to do. We don't have that. Yes, we need to improve squad strength but we are in a better position than those clubs with Dundee and Hearts being unknown quantities over a season at this level (suspect both will be fine)

Just wonder if it is the principle or the personalities behind the suggestion that we are most concerned about. Would we have the same concern with the personalities if they weren't related?

Developing our own & promoting from within is all fine and well if they have the credentials for the job. This guy has nothing when it comes to top level management. He'll just be a puppet to the powers that be, which of course will suit them down to the ground.
