Whatever your stadium, history, or how much you spend on your squad doesn't put a single point on the board. Results do that. Recruitment is King, both manager and players, that's why Ardley had to go.

laddo owners make it possible to have a club at all , even trew and hardy( who you blame everything for ) , without them stepping in , their would be no club at all, remember that

Managers are responsible for the on field performance , and both hardy and reedz backed Ardley heavily, yet he still failed

The turning point for Hardy was the swindle of the officials in the play offs, ( even Stallard said Ardley had no excuse like Nolan Did ) - it could have easily been Notts in the championship today , like Coventry , with Hardy getting the gates up , it could have been good for Notts
All the talk after how Coventry were a far superior team ( bull**** as over 46 matches they finished lower in the table) , made hardy think changes need to be made , also Yates leaving which hardy was mad about, and Bennett injured after just 1 match , all combined to rob of us of automatic, none of which were Hardy,s fault

Where as the Reedz brothers, have little to lose, they brought the club cheaper as a national league outfit ( probably why they brought it - and the owners are good, SO CREDIT TO HARDY FOR SELLING IT TO GOOD OWNERS ? ) , unless relegated to the north, they have nothing to lose, only to gain if, and when we go up, hence the reason they gave Ardley nearly 2 years, even they realised in the end Ardley was a tool, and you know what, it could just pay of for them, Notts, and us, if something magical happens in the play offs, but if not i am confident we will do well next season, and certainly will not be beaten like a poor side like Dover , Dover beat only 2 clubs before their 15 matches were cancelled ( Notts got away with that one - to the anger of other Clubs )

    Zzzzzzz,....................

And you claim that it is pro-Ardley fans who can't stop bringing him up.

    Look in the mirror!

"No club at all?" But hasn't someone always "stepped in"? In nearly 160 years of being a club someone has always stepped out of the shadows. I will never forget this.

Putting financial responsibilities to one side as you know one of the key responsibilities of an owner is recruiting the right manager. Hardy hand selected and appointed Ardley.

Alan gambled (the club, his finances, his businesses) and it backfired horribly#toxiccircus

    Owner>Manager>Players

I will try to answer your question.
    1. Was I surprised at the timing of Ardleys sacking? Yes, we were in the cup semi final and comfortably in the play offs.
    2. Did I think we would stay in the play offs? Yes
    3. Did I think we would get promotion under Ardley? No
    4. Did I like the style of football we played under Ardley? No it was predictable and boring.
    5. Was I happy with the appointment of IB? More bemused and curious with his lack of experience at our level.
    6. Did I then think the appointment was a mistake? Yes especially after losing to Hornchurch, dropping out of the play offs and listening to that baffling interview.
    7. Do I now think IB is the right man for the job and the brothers got it right? Yes especially now Ross has gone and he as had time to implement his ideas on the training ground. We are playing some exciting stuff.
    8. Do I think you and the likes of Davy going on about Ardley on every thread boring and repetitive? YES.
I hope this answers all your questions and you can leave Ardley in the past where he belongs.

Good to see you admit (finally) that Ardley was a shambles.
I'm afraid it's impossible to ignore Ardley as I've already explained hes the barometer on which IB is compared to,simply because Ardley was the manager before him.
There are many on here that still haven't reached your conclusion about Ardley yet as they still defend his honour about anything football related.
I'm afraid your dream is an impossible dream as you know managers from the past crop up week in week out I mean Nolan keeps getting a look in as does Cotterill and theres a chap called Sirrell that gets a mention from way back.
I think you need to relax a little and if your not sure if you are going to like a topic posted just give it a miss in the first place.
Or , if you have read it and dont like it just forget about it.
TOP TIP if you see the name Ardley or Saddo(5h1t I've said it.! ) dont bother to read it as it seems to send your anxiety levels into hyper drive.)
I've heard toupes are an expensive piece of kit and I wouldnt want it to start malting through worry and stress.
One final thing I'm sure once we start losing one or 2 games some Ardley lovers will tell us all how wrong we were had was sacked, probably a bit like you when we lost the semis and dropped out of the play offs, it seemed ok to throw his name around then.

I'll be able to forget about Ardley the day we get promoted out of this league. Until then he'll always be the reason for me that we are where we are.
