And there's me thinking that it's simplistic!

Laughter, happiness and contentment all help you to live a fuller life, but there are no guarantees you will reach a great age.
Geoff Hamilton thought cycling for health was a good idea.😉

Mick might just do that through exercise, living to be 200, pestering WBA forums… 😎😜🤣

Until recently I was confident I'd make 90+.

For reasons I don't want to go into I'm not expecting to make it to 65 but I'd rather be feeling fit whilst I'm here rather than be a lazy slob with a big gut.

    That’s the right attitude Mick.

But, I really do hope you’re wrong with your most recent assumptions, and correct with your previous assumptions. Take care.

Glad there like minded people. I have always said our ‘end of life date’ is written on our forehead, much like a best before date on food packaging. You cannot change your destiny because you were always going to do what you do.

A person can say ‘if I’d gone on that plane I would be dead’, but that would be wrong, they should be saying ‘I was never going to die on that plane because I was never going to get on that plane.

To quote the late Dolly Allen, she said that she wished she knew where she was going to die, because then she wouldn’t go there!

A bit like Churchill you mean?
Wrong attitude Mick, positive thoughts are better for your health than running around the streets. Nobody really give a s hit if you beat your own record's only you.
As I say, our own deaths are already ordained, nothing will change the fact.
But if running and keeping fit make's you happy, do it, life is about being happy and doing what you want to do.
I enjoy long walks, a drink with friends, a smoke of my pipe, the warmth of a woman.
I would sooner die happy than die miserable and be a bore to everyone who knows me.
Think lucky and you'll be lucky... maybe.😉
