I would have given HRK another 12 months as he was a good bench sub to have and bring on when you needed to retain the ball up front with a quarter of an hour to go. We know he was never gonna be a prolific goalscorer but he did have his uses. It would not surprise me if even now he got offered a contract by whoever comes in as manager.

Totall agree. He'd have been very useful in the Championsip and I'm sorry to see him leave. In my opinion he's never been given the credit that he deserves. I for one, would be happy if a new manager offered him a twelve month contract. If not I would like to thank him for his efforts for us and wish him well for the future.

I wonder which of the younger players released will come to prove us wrong.

Whoever takes over, then any youngster who shows potential must be given a chance. This is why if Johnstoe leaves we don't have to spend any money to replace him. We have Palmer and Griffiths, both of whom are showing great potential.

He got Sheff U promoted with Henderson in goal, that will be his benchmark going forward. Palmer/Griffiths/Button will have to impress during pre-season, as the position is so important.

I'm glad he is leaving, but I fear this is a tactic to get him resigned on lower terms when no one offers him more.

Hi Blood - hope you are well mate! Yes we were discussing this yesterday and said the same. It’s harder to renew a contract when someone lets say is on 30K and bring them down to again lets say 15K. So once the contract is terminated easy to start from scratch with new terms,

Can’t see anyone rushing to grab him to be honest apart from a struggling side. Tells you something when it’s not even in the Wales team who are probably equal to Walsall.

We need to be ruthless and get rid!

Does anyone really believe that Sawyers offers more to the side than HRK? I realise that they play differing roles but Sawyers was very poor, both latterly in the Championship and in the Premier Division. SA hardly picked him in the squad let alone play him. I would have kept HRK and got rid of Sawyers.

In the championship Sawyers and Livermore were on the main - poor! It was a toss up between Austin and Kanu who was poorer! Austin has no legs now but still would score more goals than Kanu given the service.

Kanu in the Premier incredibly was one of the highest earners. A team could pick up Edwards and if he shows more consistency he could come back to haunt us! I don’t believe any team who will challenge us would recruit Kanu as he puts in the effort but lacks talent! The fact he can’t get into the Wales squad who are poor service volumes.

I don’t rate Phillips but to be fair he’s had a few decent games but he’s another one who frequently goes missing
