Meslier started against Holland for France U21's in the Quarter-final match.Holland won 2-1 with the Dutch winning goal coming in the 91st minute - surprise result form wise but next up the Olympics for Meslier.

Super, just super, sending a guy who I presume hasn't been vaccinated (due to his age), to a country and a competition (if it goes ahead), where tens of thousands of similarly unprotected folks will be mixing with who knows what result. Insanity of the highest order.

21 year olds don't die of Covid in the developed world. About the same chance of dying of the flu or pneumonia. Just the reality of numbers. Of course, in my state with over 8 million residents we had zero deaths from flu or pneumonia. Not one singe death in all of 2020.

Never said he would die Spaldy, but should he be infected who knows what the short or long term effects might be, and right now our "plan b" gk is Casilla.

With you on the stats, said as much since January 2020, and pleased to hear about the numbers affected by flu/pneumonia, but Covid isn't exactly like either (as we all know).

And just like your bosom buddy BB, you interpret questions as whinging. So having concern for the health and well being of one of our brightest young players (for whom any substitution would be dependent upon the player who effectively cost us promotion is 2019), is whinging? Have it your way.

Forgive me for interrupting But WTF isn't one of you that have said in the past to let Covid 19 run its course? If so what is the problem? Again I stress my brain isn't in a good place and might be wrong.

Don't mind interrupting, but over-simplification is a different thing.

I've said consistently that those with healthy immune systems are not likely to suffer serious symptoms (not impossible, just unlikely). Stats and science prove that to be the case.

Vaccines should be (and have been) aimed at the elderly and those (of any age) who have compromised immune systems and herd immunity is and should be the objective.

Mixing those who haven't been vaccinated with those from countries where Covid is still prevalent (Japan springs to mind) isn't consistent with any best practice.
