And a week in the Falklands is a week too long. Just kidding, I believe the SSB's love it down there, same damp cold landscape and millions of sheep to choose from
Glass is taking them to the Falklands on a pre season tour mate and there are over 2000 fans in the ballot for spare seats on the plane.

Fwiw I think the 5 alleged to be interviewed are all poor options.

I don’t want toshack. Pretty much same as courts but at least people behind the scenes rate courts from knowing him well.

As said above Courts in interview not inspiring and to me sounded not up to it either Pre or post match with Livi. Though maybe unfair to judge him just on that.

Didn’t strike me though that he had what it takes.

That said if TA and MO want to appoint him then why not just get on with it.

If it isn’t a manager with proven record like Alex Neil or Del Boy then club should go for manager they want.

Would hate to end up with half way house like a toshack who satisfies nobody and not up to it.

Just have to trust now in those running club to make right decision.

If this is our Cathro moment with Courts then if it doesn’t work out then maybe we would still have time to turn it around in January.

Lets pretend we have interviewed 6 candidates for Head Coach

imo If fans hadn't kicked up Merry Hell about Mellon 's departure and appointing Courts then Courts would have been appointed more than a week ago.

As it is they are now sh1tting themselves and think if they leave it a bit then the frenzy might calm.

So they pretend to be interviewing potential candidates. In reality they are interviewing zero other candidates.

They wait a while more before announcing Tam Courts.

Everything about this has been strange imo.

MM going from "I love it here in Scotland" to away in the space of a week and straight back to Tranmere within a few days.
"leaked" stuff to the press about Courts getting the job.
Then the appearing to back track due to media backlash.
Then looking to interview other "exciting candidates"
Now its appointment likely next week

If Courts was the man for the job then what benefit does it have by delaying it? Yes if he wants to give the impression of other people in for the job then ok but I really don't see what that achieves. Surely the best thing would be to just appoint Courts then give the support the reasons why we've went down this route and deal with it from there. Delaying does nothing! Wastes more time.

Instead he has put more pressure on Courts (or the next manager). This is time which could have been spent better for preparation for pre-season and identifying targets possibly even sign players. If we do end up with Courts then it's wasted time to put forward the case of why he is the man for the job. Instead we've delayed and had everyone who knows Courts tell us why he is great for the job?!

I personally don't think Courts will be appointed. I think Ashgar has thrown his name to the wolves to gauge reaction then will appoint someone else. Who knows who that person will be but that's my gut feeling. I feel we should be going for someone with experience to push us to the next level but the lack of any real communication from the club means nobody knows what we are going for. We are all basing this of stuff said in the media not, actually by United.

The club owner must surely understand that flirting with relegation this season could see his whole business plan flushed down the toilet! Producing youth players is all fine and well, but to make decent money...they need to be performing at a decent level!
The clubs also needs the fans to be on board with what they are doing or they risk losing their lifeline money supply.
I don't think they will take such a big risk unless they were super confident of success.
To be honest....I will take any manager that can see our need for a creative midfielder, as the last 3 have been unable to do so!
The club just need to hurry up and get someone in so the build for next season can start!

Whats worrying me is the constant talk of youth and developing for what would be a financial return. Too much pressure there from the off to find a Gauld, Robertson, Armstrong type.

We've been here before and it went all to f uck with guys who we couldnt give away i.e Spittal, Durnan, Donaldson young Scottish players bought to improve and sell on and we couldnt as they weren't good enough in the first place.

The owner is not mentioning competing for top 6, europe or trophies the whole emphasis is on youth and ultimately selling on which worries the life out of me
