Everything about this has been strange imo.

MM going from "I love it here in Scotland" to away in the space of a week and straight back to Tranmere within a few days.
"leaked" stuff to the press about Courts getting the job.
Then the appearing to back track due to media backlash.
Then looking to interview other "exciting candidates"
Now its appointment likely next week

If Courts was the man for the job then what benefit does it have by delaying it? Yes if he wants to give the impression of other people in for the job then ok but I really don't see what that achieves. Surely the best thing would be to just appoint Courts then give the support the reasons why we've went down this route and deal with it from there. Delaying does nothing! Wastes more time.

Instead he has put more pressure on Courts (or the next manager). This is time which could have been spent better for preparation for pre-season and identifying targets possibly even sign players. If we do end up with Courts then it's wasted time to put forward the case of why he is the man for the job. Instead we've delayed and had everyone who knows Courts tell us why he is great for the job?!

I personally don't think Courts will be appointed. I think Ashgar has thrown his name to the wolves to gauge reaction then will appoint someone else. Who knows who that person will be but that's my gut feeling. I feel we should be going for someone with experience to push us to the next level but the lack of any real communication from the club means nobody knows what we are going for. We are all basing this of stuff said in the media not, actually by United.
