Some of that was due to players from Chelsea and Man City being rested. The circumstances are a victim of the success of English teams in Europe. The prolonged season won't help our national team though
It's been a strange season amid strange times

Let’s just hope Southgate picks the right side that will win games when it matters starting next Monday

It's only a short few weeks ago on this board that we couldn't understand why chieo, decided to keep on his feet against Barnsley, when he was clearly fouled in the penalty area, and even though he stayed up, he lost a bit of momentum and had to get back on balance, and to coin the Stephen Warnock phrase had he gone down "He made the most of it, but he's got every right to " score that penalty and as it stood we stay up, or would you say because chieo stayed on his feet it wasn't a foul? Grealish love to watch. Top class sport you want excitement & he gives it. Hope J Henderson doesn't start he doesn't do it for England. Rice in his place. Centre backs we're abit dodgy but if Southgate picks players in form we can go all the way. My starting 11 Pickford; James centre backs leave that to the manager Chilwell; Mount Rice Foden Grealish; Kane Calvert- Lewin

Agree with the comments about Grealish.
Can't remember anyone like him since Gazza and we're lucky to have him
I wish he'd drop the Alice band though

Can't argue with the potential attacking flair in that team gru. Just unsure if some of the better teams will tear into the space between our defence and midfield left by such attacking focus.

Like some, disappointing that we only played fringe players last night instead of using it as a last chance for the first XI to play together and find some rhythm but understand the balance on trying to keep some freshness. Shame we have our hardest game first up so straight in at the deep end.

    Come on Lions!

Doubt we'll see side I selected. Southgate he's like Warney playing happy families! Walker there's never no end product with him. Trippier can't be that good, Tottenham got rid.

Trippier and Walker are both title winners this season and have both been outstanding. Walker can cover at centre half and Trippier can cover at LB although I hope hes not needed there.

I think it depends on the opponents on whether Walker or James plays. I do like Rice but I am unsure he is ready to hold the midfield for all that attacking flair. I would play Mount a bit deeper with Foden and Grealish infront of them, with James/Walker and Chilwell/Shaw as wing backs and Kane as the focal point.

That means that ingame management can be done in real time and DCL or Sancho and Sterling can be brought on if we need a goal and we can pull the full backs in if we need to defend. It is how chelsea play under Tuchel.

I Think Grealish has the potential to be player of the tournament.

And again he proved that he can play without falling over every 6 yards.

    Different Manager. Different instructions ?
