You are right, there is a group under the label BLM that makes marxist statements.
It is also, seperately, a global movement by people that want to live in a world where black people are treated equally - that do not have any affiliation to the group you speak of.
It is possible to be a conservative, while while nothing to do with the Conservative party - you get what I'm saying.
I'm not a Marxist, but like footballers around the country I support the idea and overall movement that black people shouldn't be treated unfairly for the colour of their skin, whilst not particularly caring for some of the varying groups attempting to use the BLM name with strategies and messages I do not necessarily support.
The poppy is a flower, sure. But its use by the British legion is, according to their website, "as a show of support for the Armed Forces community", which like it or not, is a political statement.
