Lots of cases around, but little coming into hospital. Hopefully speeds vaccinations up even more and will we see some surge vaccine response like Glasgow and Moray got?
Not altogether a surprising spike in cases. But last time the case rate was this high we had 200 inpatients with COVID. We are not even in that remote ball park this time.
Hopefully relaxations can still continue as hospital pressures not seen.
Numbers wise we will sadly see some young people who will get very sick. No need to panic, but get your vaccines when offered and hopefully we will all be back in Tannadice sooner rather than later.
Drop in centre at Caird Hall today for anyone over 40 who hasn't had their first vaccination and anyone who is awaiting their second of the AZ jab.
So in all likelihood these will be the regular anti-vax loonies or others who cannae be arsed. My son’s 21 and has his appt but it’s not until 30 June. My understanding is that there has been LOADS of missed appts over the last few weeks, likely mostly representing those who have no intention of getting the jab and simply ignored the blue envelope. Meanwhile those of a slightly younger age group who are ultra keen on getting it have to wait and wait and wait.......
IMO what they SHOULD have done was that once the over 50s and vulnerable groups were done, they should have opened it completely up to other age groups on a first come first served basis. That way those who really wanted it would have got it and those who didn’t/don’t want it aren’t taking up an unnecessary place in the ‘queue’ ahead of those who are keen. On this basis we could have got the percentage vaccinated up toward herd immunity level much, much quicker..........

Was talking with a colleague today and she was saying her husband, who has underlying health conditions, is an anti-vaxer. Tit.
i missed mines, letter came through the saturday morning expecting me to be at caird hall at 0900 the monday, nae chance i was making that with meetings etc working from home. Went online and no available appointments in a 2 week period to change the slot.
Once appointment had lapsed it doesnt give you the option of re-booking anytime at all. Booking system doesnt help.
