*David Robertson, former left back who bailed out to the Deadpricks in 1991, has been awarded the British Empire Medal in Brenda’s birthday honours list, for “helping to inspire a generation of football talent in a war-torn part of India”. An improvement on what previous generations of the sub-continent had to endure when that “empire” colonised it several generations ago, I suppose.

*I think the ‘Beano’ tag originated in The Northern Light, when the Ferryhill Oracle described him as being like “a Beano addict” for some on-pitch tomfoolery when he was a stripling, in pre-squad numbers days, in the 3 shirt/top/jersey.

Was he not the programme featured player one week and one of the questions was what was the last book you read to which his answer was hed never read one. That's what I seem to remember but I was wrong once before

TNL was the first, and best (87-91?)

TRF’s first issue (issue 0) was published to coincide with the opening match with the Dick End in use, Clydebank the opponents. (93-current)

Paper Tiger, superb in its spleen-venting came along around a year later and held on for a couple of seasons.

Panda’s 10 Men Went To Mow fell flat around the third reaper and his dog Spot.

Up Yer Erse Wi A Broken Screwtap’s mere two issues fared even worse.

Great display and some great saves by ex Don Danny Ward today for Wales v Switzerland! The Swiss were better but Wales ground out a draw. I think they’ll need to beat Turkey to go through as Italy look good, as always!

Thats exactly how I remember it. Loved the TNL/TRF...required reading it was! The PortaLoo era I think was the most memorable. Is it still on the go? Online/print?
