    I think a Beatles Album was No1 previously with the Stone Roses No2 I could be wrong though. Anyway the No1 spot now belongs to Marvin Gayle. Ive played a few tracks and I'm unimpressed can't understand it being top of the pile

    Only 1 Beatles album in the top 10 and I never got Bob Dylan and who the flip is Number 10??

    Pleased to see Pet Sounds is now in second place still a phenomenal Album. It conjuors up so many memories. Anyway what do think of the Top 10? Here is a link to the Top 500;

    I’ve never seen the point of ‘greatest ever’ lists, it’s just down to individuals tastes; it’s a good subject to discuss over a few pints in the pub. A few albums that I rate are ‘LA Woman’ by The Doors, ‘Feats don’t fail me now’ by Little Feat, ‘Elite Hotel’ by Emmylou Harris, ‘Black and White Night’ by Roy Orbison and friends; so much good stuff out there, impossible to make a definitive top 10 list.

    I agree that having ‘best ever’ lists might be interesting but essentially is pretty pointless. There are a multitude of tastes and nobody would ever agree fully with such a thing. Nevertheless if it is not taken too seriously hearing other people’s suggestions could be a bit of fun. One alternative that I think would tax individuals is to be set a task. A bit like Desert Island Discs in that you can choose five and five only albums to take with you. You cannot take more than one by any artist whether solo or in groups. I don’t think it is easy. Naming the favourite albums for yourself is not too difficult but whittling it down to only 5 and deciding just what you would leave behind isn’t easy.

    unhalfbricking not a bad album,it was a toss up between liege&lief and what we did on our holidays.I think liege &lief bought English electric folk to the for front.
